If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes us free, beautiful and great. Pope Benedict XVI

Meetings of the Associates of the Sisters of Christ
by Sr Ita Conlan

The Associates from the different branches held their annual get-together on the 2nd June at Norlands, the home of the London community.  Nineteen Associates were present from Bedhampton, Isle of Wight, London, Rotherham, Sittingbourne, Waterlooville and Wooton-under-Edge.

The get-together began with a simple meal together when acquaintances were renewed and news shared- truly eucharistic in its setting.  A time of focussing prayer followed and this led us into the content of the meeting.

Reports given from the different branches enabled everyone to enter into the Spirit's movement drawing us together in the very diversity that each branch lived.

We were pleased to welcome Sr Emerentienne from Madagascar and Sr Rillindis from Cameroon both living in the London community.  Over the years the Associates hold fund-raising events to support these 2 missions.  Sr Emerentienne spoke of how the sisters, working alongside the poor, were enabled to plant crops and raise poultry together as well as adult literacy.

In Cameroon the funds are used to buy medical equipement at Regina Pacis Hospital, Mutengene.

CORE GROUP MEETING on September 22nd 2007

This group of Associates with delegates from every branch meets each year to plan the common theme to be studied in all the branches for the year 2007/2008.

After discussion it was decided to study the theme of Reconciliation in the Gospels in relationship to God, to neighbour, to oneself and to creation.
