On the 23rd September Marie-Benedicte was received to begin her formation as a novice of the Congregation. Marie-Benedicte is 35 and comes from Madagascar where her family still live. She has been in France for the past 12 years and it is there that she met the sisters. She is an accountant by profession and worked in Paris.
In August 2006, Mare-Benedicte made an election retreat which led her to spend 6 months as a postulant. She continued her work but spent week-ends in a community of the Sisters at Ablon near Paris. During this time as she got to know herself better she discerned Christ's call to go further and follow him in the Congregation. But before doing this she had to take the necessary steps to free herself from her former way of life so as to live the 2 years of novitiate.
This time of novitiate will be spent with the community at the Spiritual centre at Epernon, near Chartres, France. She will join Clotilde a novice in her second year.
Father, we thank you for having called us to follow your Son Jesus Christ, Source and Maker of Unity. Give us the strength and gentleness of your Spirit so as to be able to witness together to the Gospel.
May we be one in You so as to be of service to communion among those to whom we are sent. We address you, Father, who can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Amen. |
